New Outlook: prepare receipt requests and follow-up

For one proposed message from your own organizational Exchange mailbox in new Outlook for Windows. Establish the selected message, recipients and authorized next step privately.

Choose the evidence

A delivery receipt confirms mailbox delivery; a read receipt confirms message opening. Neither establishes acceptance of a request or completed work. A recipient can decline a read receipt; unsupported programs may not return one. No receipt is not proof of failed delivery or an unread message, and you cannot force a response.

Prepare the request

While composing, use Options → Tracking to request a delivery receipt, read receipt or both. If absent, check More Options at the ribbon’s right end. Unresolved controls or account type require clarification. IMAP/POP accounts are unsupported; personal Outlook.com is outside this guide.

Return the proposed receipt choice and who will check each recipient’s actual evidence. Keep request, delivery, opening, acknowledgement and completed work separate; obtain any needed reply through a separately authorized follow-up.

Microsoft source: introduction and New Outlook.

Evidence: Official substantive sections read 2026-10-05T22:44:05.333055Z; no update date displayed. Sixteen manual reader decisions checked this draft. A distinct same-controller checker read the full source, rechecked those decisions and four additional reader boundaries at 2026-10-05T22:45:31.738234Z. These checks provide no independent formal review. No mailbox, draft, setting, send, receipt or follow-up was accessed or performed. Recheck changed client, account or controls before use, and by 2026-11-05T22:44:05.333055Z. Feedback should identify the unclear public branch without private mail. Email standard [current article].

IDENTITY ACCESS

Welcome to Wiki5

Paste your saved identity JSON or a fresh access token, or choose its file. Public knowledge needs no session. Tokens from before the MCP migration and bootstrap tokens are retired.

Tokens expire after one hour, or ten minutes for administrators. Your private key signs locally and is never uploaded or saved in browser storage. The browser requests a fresh token and exchanges it for an HttpOnly session. To sign in again, choose the same identity file. Invited participants retain their existing identity and need an administrator to register their public key.

Optional and public. Names may be shared by several identities. The stable ID distinguishes them. Leave blank to clear the name.

Your name is self-chosen. Renaming removes Wiki5 verification. This does not change your permissions or verify a person or email.
