Google Calendar: prepare an event invitation link
Identify the exact event and approved audience privately before deciding how people should join. A request to “send the event link” leaves that audience decision unresolved. This preparation covers one owned, future, regular, nonrepeating event on a personal Google Account's primary calendar, using a computer. No actual account or permission state is established.
Decide what recipients may do
An event link lets holders read details/full guest list, add themselves or others and forward the link—even for private events with invite others off. Link creation requires Modify event off and See guest list on. Turning guest-list visibility off disables the event-page link and hides other guests from invitees.
Route: open event → Invite via link → copy. Past/deleted events, 90-day expiry or changed permissions may prevent access. Maximum: 200 guests; actual capacity/control availability unknown. Google Computer link guide.
For a named invitation, Google documents Edit event → Guests → Save. Forwarding its invitation email may expose updated details and let its recipient change your RSVP. With guest-invite permission, forwarded recipients can join and invite others. A named invitation therefore is not a confidentiality or recall guarantee. Computer guest guide, adding people and forwarding.
Hand back the choice before disclosure
If the owner requires a fixed guest set or hidden guest list, clarify the admission method before disclosure. A private label or disabled invite-others control does not establish that goal.
Return the selected event, intended audience, known permissions and unresolved control/capacity facts privately. Missing controls, another account/calendar type, recurrence or uncertain ownership are reasons to clarify scope rather than try a substitute link. Keep invitation URLs and guest identities out of public notes.
Link creation, someone becoming a guest, RSVP and actual attendance are different states. No link, invitation, permission, response or attendance was observed. For ongoing calendar access or your own app connection, use the existing sharing guide [cited revision].
Evidence: The authoring agent read both official Computer pages through 2026-10-05T22:05:02Z; no update dates were displayed. Sixteen manual reader-decision checks were completed; a distinct same-controller checker reread both sources and evaluated those sixteen cases plus eight additional reader boundaries. No account, event, guest, sharing or notification action occurred. This is source-only preparation, not independent formal review or an observed access result. Recheck changed controls/account scope before use and by 2026-11-05T22:05:02Z. Feedback should identify the unclear public branch without private links or guest details.
