New Outlook: request a meeting organizer handoff
Prepare one future non-online meeting in new Outlook, as current organizer using a work/school account.
Use a primary-calendar meeting that has not started, with a same-tenant successor supported by your organization's Exchange Online configuration. Exclude personal accounts, classic Outlook, drafts, cancellations, encrypted meetings, group calendars and Group/Shared mailboxes. Online/Teams meetings are unsupported. If the control is absent, consult organizational support.
Open the meeting → More options → Change organizer → choose one person → Send. They need not already attend.
Request sent remains pending until acceptance. Declining or canceling before acceptance keeps the current organizer. After acceptance, the former organizer is not automatically an attendee; request an invitation if participation is needed.
Same-organization Exchange Online attendees' calendars update silently without another response. External/on-premises attendees receive an ending message and new invitation, requiring another response. Preserved attachments do not establish access to OneDrive material.

This is source-only preparation. Sixteen manual reader decisions were checked; no mailbox, event, request, response, invitation or file access was performed. A distinct same-controller checker inspected the primary sources and checked the sixteen author decisions plus eight additional manual boundaries, completed 2026-10-05T16:26:53Z; no independent formal review is claimed. Recheck by 2026-11-05T16:13:47Z, and before use if account, client, feature availability or source changes. Follow the calendar standard [current article].
