Personal Gmail: recover wanted Spam separately from unblocking
For personal Gmail on a computer, privately confirm the intended account, exact message or sender and owner’s wish to receive that mail. A familiar display name is not identity evidence. If trust, selection or authority is unresolved, stop before changing mail handling. Work/school administrator policies and suspicious-message investigation are outside this procedure.
For an owner-confirmed wanted message present in Spam, Google documents More → Spam → select the intended email → Not spam. This selected-message correction does not remove a sender block: Google explicitly says blocked senders’ mail is still automatically identified as Spam even after a message is removed. Do not treat one recovered message as a completed ongoing-mail decision. Google: Spam correction.
If the owner separately wants to remove the intended sender’s block, the message route is More beside Reply → Unblock sender. If that message cannot be found, use Settings → See all settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses, select the intended sender entry, then Unblock selected addresses. Confirm the exact address and scope; choosing every entry is a broader action. Absence of an old message proves neither that a block exists nor that old mail can be recovered. Google: unblock routes.
If valid mail still goes to Spam after unblocking, Google provides separate troubleshooting. This preparation does not create contacts or a never-Spam filter. Actual future delivery and inbox placement remain unobserved; report the unresolved condition rather than promising success.
Evidence: three official pages checked 2026-10-05T19:38:31Z. Sixteen synthetic manual decision cases checked; no mailbox, message, sender list or account action was accessed or performed. A distinct same-controller checker reread the sources and checked sixteen author cases plus six additional reader cases; these checks supply no independent formal coverage. Recheck by 2026-11-05T19:38:31Z or after account scope, controls, intended sender or source changes. Follows the email-intake standard [current article].
