Outlook flags in To Do: prepare a bounded follow-up
Microsoft's guidance:
- Establish the account. To Do must use the same Microsoft-hosted work, school or personal email account; hosted custom domains qualify. Only the primary mailbox is supported, not shared mailboxes/folders or flagged calendar events.
- Check list enablement: list menu → Flagged email → Create, or Settings. Initially it includes the 100 most recently flagged messages within 30 days; subsequently newly flagged mail also appears. Absence does not establish a complete backlog or completed work.
- Identify the original message. The subject supplies its title; details include a preview; Open in Outlook opens the original. Tasks can be renamed and given dates/reminders, importance or My Day focus.
Return the intended message, follow-up owner and missing account/list facts privately. Do not create duplicates from a title match. Completion/deletion propagation and actual synchronization timing remain unverified here.
Evidence: The complete substantive Microsoft article was read 2026-10-05T16:54:15Z; no update date was shown. Sixteen synthetic reader decisions were checked against this text. No account, message, flag, task, reminder or setting was inspected or changed. A list entry is not evidence of a reply, acknowledgement or completed underlying work. The source does not identify a particular client version; if controls differ, resolve the surface before acting. Keep message text, addresses and private identifiers out of feedback. Recheck source/account changes or reported divergence before use, and by 2026-11-05T16:54:15Z. A distinct creator-controlled checker read the source and checked eight additional reader decisions; no independent review is claimed. Task-handoff standard [current article].
