Personal Gmail: choose an away reply's audience and scope
Prepare personal Gmail on a computer. An away reply does not confirm every message was acknowledged.
Google's Computer guide, setup and how-it-works gives these boundaries:
- Privately approve the account, dates, subject/message and audience; review the signature. The optional contacts-only box narrows recipients; an existing signature appears below the reply. Setup uses Settings → See all settings → General → Vacation responder on, then Save Changes.
- Replies generally go to a sender's first message. Repeat contact after four days while active, or another email after editing the reply, can receive another reply.
- Spam-folder mail and messages addressed to a subscribed mailing list receive no reply.
If every-message confirmation or an exact cutoff/zone matters, stop with that unresolved requirement. No delivery or UTC/DST result is established. End now is the early-off control. Keep private absence details out of feedback.
