Airline-caused disruptions are excluded.\n\n[Delta’s same-day page](https://www.delta.com/us/en/change-cancel/same-day-flight-change), introduction, eligibility, fees and additional rules:\n\n- Request within **24 hours before original scheduled departure**; the alternative must depart earlier on the **same calendar day**. Changing airports, even within one city, is excluded.\n- **Confirmed:** Delta Main requires availability in the **originally purchased fare class**, in Delta Main. An empty seat alone does not establish that availability.\n- **Standby:** offered only when confirmed change is unavailable. The original flight stays confirmed until a seat on the earlier flight is assigned; a standby request is not that assignment.\n- Confirm actual fee/fare conditions before authorizing a change.
