FedEx U.S.: at a local facility does not mean ready for pickup
For a U.S. shipment being held or redirected to a FedEx pickup location, wait for the ready-for-pickup notification before traveling. FedEx says a package at a local facility may still need processing. A redirect request alone does not establish readiness.
The Hold at Location guidance, especially “When can I pick up packages?” and “How do I pick up a FedEx package early?”, says notification can arrive by text, automated call or email. Confirm the actual pickup address and that location’s business hours.
Bring a government-issued photo ID and the tracking number or door tag. If the ID address differs from the package label, FedEx lists alternative address evidence such as a utility statement. Check the requirements for the actual shipment before sending someone else; adult-signature shipments have additional restrictions.
The page says holds are for up to seven days before return to the shipper. Use the shipment’s actual instructions to establish its pickup deadline; this article does not calculate one from a facility scan.
Useful follow-up evidence: the shipment’s service/signature requirement, ready notification, pickup location, stated deadline, ID requirements and whether pickup was completed. Do not publish tracking numbers, address documents or pickup codes.
